Motivation and goals of the event:

Since 24 February, the war in Ukraine has been the dominant topic.
The images of the suffering of the civilian population and the massive destruction of the medical infrastructure, among other things, move us as doctors in a special way. Up to half a million Ukrainians have found refuge in Germany from the horrors of war. An enormous wave of solidarity and willingness to get involved is sweeping German civil society, including many of our colleagues. Numerous initiatives have emerged and are emerging on an unprecedented scale.

We would like to invite you to this congress in order to get an overview of the efforts made so far in our region and the further needs both in refugee aid and in the field of humanitarian support for Ukraine.

By networking various actors from civil society (e.g. NGOs, German-Ukrainian associations), municipal and regional decision-makers, regional representatives of the medical profession, religious communities, health insurance companies, with doctors interested and committed to this topic, we hope to be able to contribute to the improvement of aid for Ukrainians, both here and at home.

This congress will address three thematic blocks:

  1. medical care for refugees;
  2. aspects of the professional integration of Ukrainian medical staff in Germany
  3. humanitarian aid for Ukraine

We look forward to seeing you!
